Sporting events live or die on atmosphere. The roar of the crowd, a replay everyone can actually see, an anthem that lands cleanly, a finish-line announcement that does not vanish into the wind — that is all audio-visual production. Whether you are running a community 10K, corporate hospitality, a boxing bill, a school sports day or a full stadium fixture, the right AV hire turns a match into an experience.
We specialise in audio visual hire for sporting events. That means we do not just drop off speakers and leave. We plan coverage, specify the right kit for indoor arenas and outdoor fields, supply trained crew, and keep power, staging and screens working together as one system from load-in to strike.
Sports venues are some of the hardest rooms in live production. Concrete, steel, open air, moving crowds and sudden spikes of noise all fight against clear sound and readable pictures. Amateur kit and last-minute speaker stands create dead zones, unintelligible commentary, screens that wash out in daylight, and lighting that makes athletes and presenters look flat on camera.
Professional hire solves that. We design for speech intelligibility first (so safety announcements and start-line calls are understood), then for music, replays and sponsor content. We size video walls for viewing distance and brightness. We plan power so LED walls, line arrays and moving lights do not trip a generator mid-ceremony. And we build staging that is safe, branded and camera-ready.
Typical outcomes our clients need:
You can come to us for dry hire, wet hire with technicians, or full event production. Most sporting events sit in the middle: you keep creative control of content and running order; we own the technical plan.
Our process is straightforward:
We work across marathons and obstacle races, football and rugby hospitality, boxing and MMA, tennis and golf days, school and university sports, e-sports arenas, fan zones and corporate match-day activations.
A video wall is now the centrepiece of most sporting productions. It is how late arrivals catch the score, how sponsors get screen time, how finishers see themselves cross the line, and how a hospitality room becomes a second stadium.
We hire indoor and outdoor LED walls in custom sizes. Pixel pitch is chosen for how far people stand or sit — finer pitch for close hospitality and photo walls, coarser pitch for large outdoor boards viewed from distance. Outdoor panels are specified for high brightness so content remains readable in daylight. Indoor walls stay sharp under arena lighting without looking overdriven on camera.
Typical uses we support:
We handle processing, media servers, content playback, camera feeds and operator control. If you need broadcast-friendly refresh rates for slow-motion replay or multi-camera switching into the wall, we specify that from the start rather than discovering flicker on the day.
Sports audio has one non-negotiable job: speech must be understood when the crowd is loud. Music and walk-up tracks come after that. Weak PA systems disappear the moment the stands rise. Over-loud systems without delay alignment create echo and complaints from neighbours or suites.
We design distributed sound: main arrays or point-source clusters for the principal audience area, delay speakers for rear stands, concourses and start/finish corridors, and independent zones for hospitality, media and back-of-house. Processing and delay alignment keep announcements tight. Cardioid or well-aimed subs keep bass on the field or stage rather than booming into residential streets.
What we typically provide:
Outdoor events get weather-aware placement, cable management that survives foot and vehicle traffic, and enough headroom that a sudden cheer does not bury the next instruction.
Lighting at a sporting event is not just “make it bright”. Athletes need even, safe levels. Presenters and award winners need to look good on camera. Sponsors need their branding readable. Night fixtures and indoor arenas often need a pre-show look, a competition look and a ceremony look without a long re-focus.
We hire and programme:
We plan around ceiling height, existing house lights, broadcast white balance and any glare that would hit players or officials. Outdoor night events get weather-rated fixtures and sensible aiming so light stays on the action instead of spilling into the sky or neighbouring properties.
LED walls, line arrays, moving lights and video processing are power-hungry. A hospitality suite on a single 13A ring will not run a 20-foot wall and a PA. Temporary outdoor sites often have no meaningful supply at all.
Event power is part of our AV hire, not an afterthought. We calculate load, specify generators or three-phase distro where needed, separate show-critical circuits from catering and general site power, and build in spare capacity. Cable runs are protected, labelled and routed so they are safe for spectators, athletes and vehicles.
We coordinate with venue electricians and site managers on earthing, changeover, silent or super-silent generators for residential areas, and fuel plans for long race days. If the show cannot go down when a fridge compressor kicks in, we design the plot so it does not.
Staging at sporting events has to work for presenters, athletes, cameras and crowd flow. A finish-line podium is different from a half-time entertainment stage, which is different from a press conference riser.
We supply modular stage decks, custom footprints, stairs, ramps, skirting, truss backdrops and branded fascias. Structures are load-rated, assembled by experienced crew, and dressed so they look intentional on television and in phone photos. Outdoor stages can be specified with weather considerations and safe access for medal ceremonies that happen in a three-minute window.
Common builds:
Staging, video, lighting and audio are designed as one plot. That avoids the classic problem of a beautiful LED wall sitting on a stage that is too shallow for presenters, or a PA that blocks the camera shot of the trophy lift.
The risk at sporting events is fragmentation: one company for screens, another for sound, a third for lights, a generator firm that has never seen the LED spec, and a staging crew who arrive after the power plan is already wrong. We take the full technical package — video walls, sound, lighting, event power and staging — so there is a single design, a single load-in, and a single point of contact when the schedule slips by forty minutes because the previous fixture ran long.
You still own the event. We accommodate your AV services by fitting around your content team, your broadcast partner, your venue rules and your sport’s governing-body requirements. If you already have house screens or a PA, we augment rather than rip and replace. If you only need a finish-line wall and a handheld radio pack, we do not upsell a festival rig.
Tell us the sport, the venue type, expected crowd, indoor or outdoor, and whether you need dry hire or full crew. We will come back with a clear system recommendation covering video walls, sound, lighting, event power and staging — sized to the day you are actually running, not a generic kit list.
From community races to arena fight nights, the goal is the same: every announcement heard, every replay seen, every ceremony looking like it belongs on the broadcast. That is what professional AV hire for sporting events is for.
